The bad news is, Apple is losing market share significantly, because its market share fell from 92.8 percent earlier in the year 2009. Meanwhile, Google's Android Market has increased the share of 4.7 percent in 2010, up from 1.3 percent in 2009.
As an analyst Jack Kent from IHS show, Google with Android Marketnya considered sufficient to reach an agreement that "dramatic," with earnings jumped 861.5 percent during the year 2010.
"Yes, the competitors managed to close the gap with Apple's iPhone. By providing smartphone product with an attractive user interface," said Kent, as reported by Apple Insider, Wednesday (16/02/2011).
"However, in terms of mobile application store, Apple is still far ahead of competitors, with other stores so far not able to replicate Apple's success in generating revenue from users," he added
According to Kent, Apple has managed to maintain a certain advantage by utilizing tightly controlled ecosystem, especially by incorporating hardware that is very interesting and content with the ability to offer customers an integrated service and simple billing through iTunes.
"In 2014, about 50 percent more than the Apple App Store in the United States revenue would be generated by users iPad, up from less than 20 percent in 2010," he said
Meanwhile, Nokia OVI Store recorded the second strongest growth in 2010, with revenues increasing by 719.4 percent, giving 4.9 percent share of the business applications market, up from 1.5 percent in 2009.
