Internet access in Egypt Opened Back

After a blocked for several days, internet access in Egypt  eventualy released back again.Telephone network began torecover gradually from Wednesday (02/02/2011) shortly after President Hosni Mubarak issued a political statement that hewould not go in the presidential election next September.

"Good news, Internet access has been back in Egypt," Googlewrote in its official Twitter account. "Internet Service BlackBerry also became active again," wrote Ben Wedeman, foreign journalists who covered in Egypt.

Internet reportedly began to be accessible again since this morning at 05.00 local time. Renesys Internet traffic monitoring services and RIPE also showed a high traffic spikes from Egyptafter a few days had no signal at all.

"Sites of Egyptian Stock Exchange, International CommercialBank of Egypt, MCDR, and the U.S. Embassy in Cairo can be accessed again,"wrote Renesys on its official blog.

Hosni Mubarak's government previously criticized severely for blocking Facebook, Twitter, and even the Internet entirely. This was allegedly to silence the action of the pro-democracy activists whodemanded President Hosni Mubarak came down from his post.
